HEO Certification Requirements for Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Trainers

Coaches, All Bench and On-Ice Staff must have completed:

- Respect in Sport (RIS) for Activity Leaders or Speak-Out,


- must hold the correct Coaching certification or be registered for the appropriate clinic (must be able to provide proof of Registration) before their First Regular season league game or on-ice activity (Initiation program) to remain on the team’s roster.


- All required courses must be taken before November 30th of the current season.


- Trainer Level 1 certification/recertification must be done no later than October 31st of the current season.  


- Gender Identity Training (GIT) - mandatory for all Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers (to be completed within 30 days of being named to a team):  Gender Identity Training (no fee):  https://register.hockeycanada.ca/clinics


- a current and valid VULNERABLE SECTOR POLICE RECORDS CHECK
